Mission Statement

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America and Ship 557 is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

If you ask a youth about the Aims of Scouting listed above, they’ll seldom offer these reasons for being a Sea Scout. Young men and women one primary reason to join Sea Scouts, and that’s to have FUN! Our Ship has a program that provides young men and women a lot of fun! 

Sea Scouts also learn while having fun. Some of these topics include Boater Safety, Life Saving, Knot Tying, Emergency  Radio Communications, Canoeing, Kayaking, Fishing Skills, Sailing, Boat Repair, Boat Construction.
